what are the advantages and disadvantages of creating a free website (like blogger, wordpress, webon, synthasite).

I know one advantage would be that it would be free to make the website, but the disadvantage would be...?

Also, which one is the best and why, in your opinion?
What are the advantages and disadvantages of creating a free website (like blogger, wordpress, webon, synthasi?
We make website at just Rs 3000(60$).Please mail to sjha@indigloo.com for more details. There are no hidden costs. We book domain, host and design your website just in 3000.You pay only when you approve our work.
Reply:Advantages:

- You can try out what they offer so that if you decide to upgrade to paid hosting with them (or anyone else) you at least have an idea of what you're getting.

- They're online site builders can make it nice and easy for you to make a fabulous website without knowing any coding.

- They often have nice free features that you sometimes have to pay extra for with a paid host.

Disadvantages:

- Sometimes they put ads or text links on your site.

- They can delete your site at any time for any reason, and they don't have to tell you why.

- They don't always give you lot's of control over your codes (if you know how to manage coding).

- They don't always give you lots of space and bandwidth.

- They may not be reliable. They can be there one day, and decide to shut down or make everyone pay another day.

From the options you gave, I think Wordpress is the best, especially the download version. But even with the online version, it's easy to add pages and blog, they give you a nice amount of space (3GB), you can add things to be downloaded, you can have a photo gallery, and you can password-protect pages.
Reply:The main disadvantage is lack of control. You always have to play by their rules more than if you ran it yourself. Of course, it's also a lot less work. From those choices, I would say the best is wordpress.
