As a blogger are you subjected to journalism ethics?

can you write anything you like and about anybody

or do u think you need to ask permission from someone you write about?
As a blogger are you subjected to journalism ethics?
Well that depends on how you present your blog. If you are writing a political blog, and presenting it as news, it would be best to maintain ethical standards. If you are writing a personal weblog, that鈥檚 a different story. The ethics of Journalism are designed to help readers trust you, and that's important to both bloggers and journalists.

Although ethics are your own, despite free speech, you cannot just write anything about anyone. For instance, let's just say you hate a certain bus driver and you write in your weblog that you see the bus driver, Jay Smith touch girls butts as they leave the bus. You could get sued if in court it can be proven that you wrote something untrue that other people read, and hurt him or his reputation. This is called libel. A blogger can be sued for libel just like any journalist. Now, you don鈥檛 need permission to write about him. You can say he鈥檚 a jerk, and say anything about him that is your opinion or is true and be fine. It dosn't matter if it's vulgar, you can be as vulgar as your little heart desires. There is plenty of that all around. It just can't be a lie that damages someones reputation. Oh and also, just in case you wondered, Journalists do not need permission to write about anyone.
Reply:Having in mind you are anonymous - no you are not. It's up to your ethics to decide!

Have fun blogging!
Reply:You need ethics but you have press freedom, as long as it is not vulgur.
Reply:yes
