Personally, I use blogger for these reasons: It's pretty dang easy to use and it is hosted free. It does lack some desirable features such as the ability to sort posts by category. But overall, I'm satisfied. I've heard a few rumblings that a blogger url lacks cachet and screams "I'm a blog novice", but I actually read a fair number of pretty good blogs that are hosted on blogger.
